Santa Maria launches its own birra

Pasquale and Angelo, founders of Santa Maria, the original Neapolitan pizzeria based in West London with a third site soon to come in central London, today announce an exclusive beer collaboration with Bermondsey-based beer brewery Bianca Road:  the Santa Maria Blood Orange IPA, which will be sold at each of the Santa Maria sites from early September. The Blood Orange IPA is made from Barley, Wheat, Blood Orange, Hope and Yeast and has an ABV of 4.5%.  It’s a fruity and refreshing craft IPA, packed with the citrussy juice and zest of blood oranges for a fruity flavour.   Reece Wood, of Bianca Road Brewing Co, says of the beer. “We wanted to brew a blood orange India Pale Ale to bring create an explosion of sweet, fruity and fresh flavours to accompany and compliment the pizzas of Santa Maria. The juice addition creates a sweetness in aroma and initial taste, and the zest balances these out with a late bitterness on the tongue.”
